NEVER FORGET!

My post today is an acknowledgment of both the infinite darkness that struck at our nation...
and the INFINITE witnessed by the world as her heart overcame!
(The link below is to an article I wrote, as well as an audio link that I recorded about my personal experience that day and observations regarding those events)

Never Forget
and
God Bless...
...those who perished 9/11 (both American and foreign)
...the families and loved ones who suffered great loss 9/11
...all those who still suffer to this day from the effects of 9/11
...all the first responders who sacrificed so much on 9/11
...the men and women who've laid their lives down for our freedom before and since 9/11
...those who continue to fight for our freedom and freedom in other nations
And

God Bless the United States of America!

THROUGH HIS EYES

"For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength."
(Philippians 4:13)

About 17 years ago I was going through a rather difficult period in my life and seemed to continually be very hard on myself. I didn't want to feel the way I did, but just couldn't seem to stop myself. One day I talked to my sister Kelly about it and what she shared with me truly changed my life from that day forward.

She said, "Rebecca I think you need to ask God to do for you what you can't." Being a recovered alcoholic, this was not a concept that was new to me. I went home and thought about what it was exactly that I most needed from God and prayed:

"Lord I pray that You would enable me to see myself as You see me...To love myself as You love me...and to be the person You made me to be. I ask that You would let me see with Your eyes, hear with Your ears and love with Your heart today. - Amen"

I began praying this prayer everyday and before long had a major change in perspective of both how I was living and my worth - ultimately leading my life to go in a direction I never would have believed. From that day until this, anytime those old tapes play, I use the same prayer and in God's gracious faithfulness, He is always there.
